How SpeechMeet.Com Works
SpeechMeet.Com helps speech coaches to plan and organize a speech meet.
After you log in you should be at a screen that lists the speechmeets that you are working on. Click the edit link that is to the right of the meet title.
To enter data you should work your way down the links on the side of the page.
First click the Round Entry and make sure the round times are correct.
Next click on the Category Entry and double check the information for the categories.
Next click on the School Entry. You need to enter schools that are attending before you can enter meet registrations. Each school must have a unique School Identifier. You can use multiple letters for the school identifier if you need to.
Next click on the Meet Registrations. Now there should be a row for each school that was entered. Click the edit link next to the school that you are going to enter registrations for. After you have entered the data, make sure that you click the update button before clicking another edit link.
Next click on the Room Entry link. There should be an entry for each category of the meet. Click the edit link next to the category, and enter how many rooms you have for that category. Again, click the update before clicking another edit link. The number on the right tells you how many students per room there will be on average.
Next click on the Judge Entry link. There should be an entry for each school that is attending the meet. Click the edit link next to the school, and enter how many judges the school is bringing. Again, click the update before clicking another edit link. The number on the right tells you how many students per judge there will be on average.
The next link allows you to enter the room names. Click the edit link, enter a room name and then click the update link. The screen should automatically move down to the next row, but if it doesn't click the edit link next to the room. The room location is a field that will eventually be used on some of the reports. Large schools like St. John's Prep have rooms in different buildings.
The final step is to click the Generate Schedule button. This will start the generation of the schedule. Click the View Reports link to see the status of the schedule generation, and once it is done generating, there will be links for your reports.
The last link is the invoice link. It will compute the cost of the schedule. This can be used to get a purchase order approved. Once you have a purchase order number, Email us and the school will be invoiced.
